Bad luck - Drives - Unraid

Just thought I would talk about this.

We have a Media Server with 14 HDs using UnRaid. All WD except for one ( sorry its Seagate and was really cheap and we were poor),
so we bought a new 4TB Red to replace our 1TB Green. But first we wanted to reformat all the drives to XFS from Reiserfs.

So we needed to transfer the data off the old drive on to the 4TB then format old drive and re-transfer back. Took 3 weeks.
Then we took out the smallest drive, 1TB and put in the 4TB Red. formatted it and let unraid re-populate it. In the last 30 minutes one of our 1.5TB Green drives died. Its from 2009 sep 29. Talk about bad luck.

We bought another 4TB Red to replace that. Got lucky that parity drive( 4 TB Red ) could rebuild the data lost on the dead drive. and we got even more lucky that the old drive 1TB green we did not wipe yet for another system and could get back the data from it about 900Gb of data.

Talk about lucky.
So in about 7 minutes my roommate says it should be back up and running.

Why oh! why does it rain hard all at once.

Just letting people know that unraid is a butt savour.
