Backups frozen after running out of space

Hello, I have a MyBook external running SmartWare (v2.4.16 on Win 10 64) for backups but it hasn’t done anything since it ran out of space.

When I noticed it had run out of space it initially had me confused when I deliberately bought a drive with more space than my PC has. I found in the settings that it had defaulted to keeping 5 versions of file history and reduced it to the minimum of one. I expected it would gradually free up space but instead it seems to have frozen at that point. I’ve poked around in it a bit and not found any new files since that time. I don’t see any way in the app to purge history, so I don’t see any choice other than deleting everything and starting over from scratch. What else can I do?

You should try to re-install the WD Smartware and then try to create the backup. If you still face the same issue then you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this.
