I bought a My Cloud Home some time ago, and returned it because I couldn’t find a way to back up the device itself from time to time, to keep a backup in a different location. I wonder if that can be done now. The Duo is good to have redundancy of disks, but in my case I want that redundancy in different locations, hence why I would like to make a backup of the My Cloud Home device from time to time.
I setupa free Azure account and currently using MS Storage Explorer. I got 5tb of Hot Disk space and set it up as a File share so when my pc reboots it connects automatically. same with my cloud, edit the /etc/fstab to persist the drive on reboots. Way easier using this as a backup solution, Trust me ive tried them all S3/ Amazon, You name it, The price is right with Azure… Good Luck
