Trying to schedule backups from nas to an usb hard drive, but it fails after the first backup.
Creating a backup jobs works fine when it is done at the first time, but trying to do it again, it fails. When you have created a job and use the “synchronizing” option, it gives you an error message:
“The backup destination folder is read only. Please check and correct the setting.”
I have checked the usb hard drive and i cant find read-only folders. I scanned the folder with Win10 scan tool to find errors, but no errors found.
I dont know what else to do.

In case your external USB drive is formatted in exFAT, please format it in NTFS. exFAT file system in Linux is read-only.

it is in ntfs. i just deleted old backups and made new backups
I have the same issue, on WD EX4100, I have another WD 3TB External HDD connected using USB I have not problem to backup in first run and work few other times too but after a while when I try to run the backup I get the same error I have already been forced to format and create a new backup.
There should be a solution for this without doing a full backup. My drive is not read only and working 100%.

Strange.
I wonder which directory is RO (Read Only)
Here’s my PR2100 via ssh
Everything is RW
root@MyCloudPR2100 root # mount | grep USB
