Back up data on Elements 1TB

I’m somewhat computer literate!

I want to back up everything I can from my Dell laptop running Windows XP.  My computer tech previously backed up my older desktop but I don’t need that data anymore.  He moved away.   I used the guidance from this site to write the Elements to Zeros, I think it was called. So how do I back up my laptop data to the Elements unit?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

What OS are you using? It also depends on what you want to backup. You might checkout software like Acronis True Image to make an image of your entire PC drive. It’s try and buy. Paragon, EaseUS, and Macrium all have stripped down free versions. Some versions of  Windows have a built in backup. I’ve never messed with it. There is also sync software. You select say My documents on the drive you want to backup and the same on the backup drive and the folders will be matched with additins and deletions.
