Well, I’m glad I could help in any small way.
If you are shopping for an AV receiver with HDMI inputs make sure it does decoding through them – some of the cheaper ones will only output the video but not decode the DTS/AC3 through HDMI (while you *can* hook up optical inputs there is no reason to do so and may introduce sync issues on it’s own). As I said, I really like the Yamaha line, although there are good values to be found in many makers (Amazon in particular has some very good pricing).
