Audio out of sync & unusual screeching during the playback

I just moved from the original WD HD player to the new WD live streaming media player.   I have updated the firmware to its latest release.

I have a file with the following video and audio specs that was playing without any issues with my Onkyo AV receiver, but with the new WD player I am find that the audio is getting out of sync in between the movie.  If I stop the video and restart it then the sync returns back.

The second issue I am facing is that I am getting random short “screeching” sounds when this file is being played.  The output is routed via the HDMI.  This file is working perfectly on my old WD player.

Any solution to my two issues?

Note to poster:

VORBIS is not listed in the specs as being a supported audio format in an MKV file.

Only AAC / AC3 / MP3 / PCM and DTS are listed as compatible.

So if this gets marked as “Works as Intended,” then you may want to file this as an IDEA instead of an ISSUE.

Thanks for you reply.  The reason I filed this as a issue because this was functioning as intended in the older model.  Having said this, I have no issues in respecting the rules of this forums and have it filled appropriately so that it is addressed and resolved.

Fair enough…  But I imagine they’ll mark it as “Works as Intended,” since you’re reporting an issue with unsupported media.  ;)

EDIT:  Oops, strike that…  Looks like they moved it out if issues entirely.  :)
