Attach / Connect My Book to My Cloud

I have a 4 or 6 TB My Book that I want to attach through the USB port on my WDMYCLOUD but when I do that the Mycloud just sits and the light flashe. I am unable to see in Windows explorer or to access through the webpages. Apparently does not even get to the part of the process where it accesses the network as the ip address reports not found when I scan my network.

Is there any solution to this with the existing equipment, or do I have to upgrade the MYCloud to 6 TB.

Check the format type of the My Book hard drive. The single bay My Cloud does not support exFAT. The single bay My Cloud units support: NTFS, HFS+, FAT32
