Want to install ATI WD edition. My only WD drive is in a USB docking station. Installation fails because WD id not detected during installation. Any solution short of installing temporarily inside my case?

Try using other enclosure or a sata to usb cable and see if there’s any difference
Wizer, thanks for the reply. I don’t have another enclosure to try. As a novice in this area, I was not aware such a thing as a SATA to USB cable existed. For now, I’m just using W7 backup, but I’ve heard from others that ATI or Macrium Reflect Free are better options. I’ll start looking for a cable source.
