I have a WD hard disk WD3200AAKX (SATA III), for mounting on a motherboard asus P7H57D evo-v.
I plugged in the disk on the sataIII port of the motherboard (Marvell Controller).
but unfortunately I could not install windows 7 64 bit !!!.
in windows installation Sometimes my disk is detected but win7 can not format it, and sometimes it does not detect it and requires a driver!!! , I provided him a driver that exists in the motherboard cd (/ Drivers/raid/marvell/9…/disk/floppy64 /) but windows says he is not the right driver and is unsigned !!!
and sometimes the installation is completed successfully :-), but pc fails to boot windows :-(.
what is the problem please ???
Note: Bios detects my hard drive is SATA III without a problem.
didnt have a problem using / installing / windows 7 recognizing the marvel and or WD1002FAEX (black 1tb 64mb sata 6.0gb)
but did have a problem with DLGDiag 5.04f recognising the drive on a p55 / marvel sata controllers
there appears to be a DLGDiag 5.19, but there isnt an ISO download; just the floppy download (odd)
hopefully they will update the download soon, so i can actually use their drive test software.
I find the solution …
Finally win7 works fine using ACHI and even linux to detect my drive and works 100% …
I update my bios version from 1303 to 1606 and
HOP ,all works perfectly.
