With regard to the Keyboard support, yes you can use USB keyboards and some wireless keyboards. Its undocumented so you do it at your own risk. You will need either the WDTV Live Plus or the WDTV Live with the latest pre-release software. Currently it appears there is no keyboard mapping for the option key so you will need your remote.
