Applying UEFI hotfix to Sentinel 4000

I would start from scratch
download the hotfix and apply it to the server
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2781274/a-hotfix-is-available-to-add-backup-support-for-uefi-based-computers-to-back-up-to-servers-that-are-running-windows-storage-server-2008-r2-essentials

uninstall the connector on the client
surf to servername/connect and install the client
reboot
do windows update
reboot
try a manual backup

Seems to be going from bad to worse. Now, backup isn’t working for any of the computers on the network. When I try to customize the settings for any backup I get:
The backup is not successfully setup
an unknown error prevented the server from performing this task. Make sure that all services on the server are running

How do I know which services to check?

there is a group of windows server services. The initizalation service not be running.

I see a service called
Windows Server Server Backup Service
this is disabled and I cannot get it to start

Tried to restart:
Windows Server Service Provider Registry

get an error

I restarted the server for the 3rd time and started the server SQM service and it seems to be working now -
