[APP] Transmission various versions for firmware V4+ (05/2020)

Hi Nazar78,

Thank you for your continued support with software for the WD MyCloud.

I would like to Donate to you going forward, However, each time I try to install some software
from your repo, I get lots of annoying advertisement? And cannot simply install anything…

Thanks anyway.

From the error, it seems you have issues with NTP(Network Time Protocol) update. Do you see the same issue with your PC synchronizing with internet time? If yes most probably something is blocking UDP port 123.

Is your MyCloud time synched? The installer needs quite precise timings. Go to the WD Dashboard settings and check it out, change the time if necessary. You can of course do this from the command line too.

Please read the F.A.Q. on my site. You will not see the anonymous credentials captcha generator if your browser blocks adverts, try in InPrivate/Incognito mode or try another browser? All the process needs to be done in the same window or tab. This is my own specific implementation to deter bots.

For donation credentials, you can skip all these because I already recognize you to allow you to download as and when you wish from my NAS. Just use the codes automatically sent to your PayPal registered email.

UPDATES: Transmission v2.92 for firmware V4 now released to public! More info from the top post. Enjoy (-:

Hi Nazar78.
Thnks for Your help. I’m back online…
:stuck_out_tongue:

@Nazar78, im on v2.84 and im trying to update to V2.92; however, i stopped at the rootfs checking. It says that my rootfs is insufficient, that it has 0% remaining. df shows:

Now i don’t know how to free up the rootfs, i tried to search forums and seemed that none gave straight forward solutions (or i just cant understand how). This also may help: I tried to upgrade my wd firmware before that from v04.04.01-112 to v04.04.02-105 but it failed both on manual and online upgrades. i thought i bricked my cloud fortunately it didnt.

Thank you very much, looking forward for your help! after this, i may install your sickrage.

-update:
fixed it. apparently my fault. found lost downloaded video file inside the /root system folder. upgraded to latest FW and installed latest transmission. No prob. On my way to Sickrage, my first time. hope it works sweetly. thanks!

Hey I’m new to teh MyCloud. Just want to double check that this is not suitable for me.

I have MyCloud EX2, with firmware V2.11.113

Is there a way to run V4 firmware on my unit? I would love to upgrade my Transmissions app so i can have folder support.

I’m running at 4TB MyCloud with 2.11.140 and can not find anyway to install transmission, could you tell me if it is even possible?

Many thanks

maybe you’re on gen2 mycloud, try this:

No, i think V4 FW is for “MyCloud” only, and NOT "“MyCloud EX2” or so. You have a new FW upgrade release yesterday, New Release - My Cloud Product Firmware Version 2.11.142 (4/4/16) maybe they updated transmission version there.

What version firmware are you using?

then reboot and try again!

Looks like the forum formatter may have mangled that command sequence… Could you edit it to use the ‘code’ formatting for the entire command, please?

Solved. I need to type the command line manually. Thanks PhatTrance and cpt_paranoia.

Details? Firmware, daemon version and where did you install this daemon from? Seem there’s another daemon running.

How can I see the daemon version?

How can I check if I have two daemons running?

Which firmware and how you install them?
