Would like to use Plex so that I can get my home videos to play from the cloud to my Fire Stick. I’ve seen that it can be done by adding the Plex App through the My Cloud Apps on the Dashboard. Unfortunately, the Apps button is not there. I have the latest firmware (04.04.02-105) on a 4TB My Cloud.
The Plex server is not officially supported by Plex for the single bay MyCloud.
The single bay MyCloud does not have the computing power to support transcoding required by Plex.
The Gen1, v4 firmware single bay MyCloud does not support the installation of Apps. If your User Manual suggests there should be such a button, you may be looking at the manual for the Gen2, v2 firmware MyCloud. Even that does not support arbitrary app installation…
So you’re stymied on many fronts…

Why not try Kodi on the Fire Stick, and access the MyCloud either via DLNA or SMB?

Not straightforward to install, it seems, due to the Fire Stick, but there are plenty of tutorials on how to side-load Kodi:
And side load without the need for an extra computer, as that how it was done long time ago. Now with ES File Explorer is a breeze.
