Any New Apps in the pipeline

WD seem a wee bit slow in bringing Apps out for the WD Live unit. Does anyone know if there are other Apps to be added in the near future.

Desperately needs these apps as a standard.  CRACKLE-VEVO-HULA-LOVEFILM-SKY-ITV PLAYER- 4OD-5OD. As you can see from my list a lot of content that is standard now on similar units but still missing off WD Live.

I doubt this one will get much UK content added.  Hope I’m wrong but I’ve also noticed the slowness to add extra services (look at iplayer for instance) and the more time that passes the closer we get to a new player/gadget being released; probably something called WDTV Live Streaming “Connected” which would be web orientated in design with an easy way to add apps so it can compete with android boxes, and then it would be claimed the SMP was fundamentally a network streamer.  But then I am a touch cynical.

Speaking of apps, does anyone know if there is a way to hide or delete the apps you know you will not use?  Or just how to rearrange them?

Yeah, it’s really really annoying to have to flip through a bunch of services I will NEVER use to get to ones I use daily. Yeah there’s the favorites dashboard, but it’d be nicer to just be able to customize the services section.

I totally agree. You have no control on the APS that load on the dash at all. As you say there are a lot on there that are useless and I will never use. I just can’t understand why WD use some of these useless apps when there is a lot more quality ones they could add. I am getting very disappointed with the poor quality of some of the apps.

If WD want to be a big player in selling these units they will need to catch up fast with the others or they will  just fail and die and be museum pieces.

This has been asked and answered numerous times…

You can HIDE whatever apps you don’t want to see via the Parental Controls settings.

Wow thanks, this is huge. Knocking it down to just netflix and pandora will be awesome.
