Another bricked MBL?

I appear to be the latest person to suffer a bricked MBL…

Fortunately I can get to my files but I cannot access the dashboard, consequently I can’t enable SSH either.

The problem first started when I was unable to log into the dashboard… the password would not be accepted… and I was adamant I was using the correct one.  I looked around and found this…

I enabled SSH and managed to reset the MBL via Putty, it rebooted fine and allowed me to access the dashboard.  However when I tried to create a password it reported an error.  At this point I had not re-enabled SSH.

Next I closed the browser window and tried to get back into the dashboard… nothing and I’ve been stuck since.

Is the only option to return the MBL?.. I’ve had it for just one month so this is really frustrating.  I’ve seen comments about swapping the hard disk out and connecting it to a PC but I assume this will invalidate the warranty?

Hi, have you tried connecting the my book directly to the computer and pressing the reset button on the back for 4 seconds?

This is an option but in the end I had to connect the HD to my computer and then use a factory restore script to copy over a new firmware and rest everything…

I’m up and running again now fortunately.
