An error occurred while reconnecting: Z: to \\WDMYCLOUD

Recently I was confronted with a repeating error with Windows 10 as mentioned above. The only remedy is to remove the drive and reconnect, which is a bit cumbersome. I must admit I also switched off the drive, rebooted the laptop, and ultimately it worked again. Is this related to Windows 10, and should I be able to prevent this from re-occurring?
