All I can see is a System Volume Information file when I open my MyBook 3.0

Hi,

I have had my My Book 3.0 for just over 2 years. It had been working perfectly for about a year. Up until recently I had put it in storage as I had no need for it for the time being. When I went to use it again, everything that I had put on it was gone.

I have attched 2 screenshots, the first showing the over half of the memory is still being taken up and the second of what I see when I open it.

What is the System Volume Information file? Why are none of my other files visible?

Is this a known issue or am I not doing something right?

Thanks very much for your help.

Look in Disk Management abd see if the drive shows there. What OS are you using Windows 8?
