I did a back up with My Book 3TB. After 6 to 7 hours I checked to see how it worked. It took me some time to be able to find the saved files but I wasn’t able to open any of them. They all had “_LAST File” attached: URL_LAST File, JPG_LAST File, PPTX_LAST FILE, docx_LAST File, etc. Not sure how to proceed. Please help. Thank you, Ron

I’m using a WD Pastport drive, but I’ve seen other type drives mentioned with proper backup.
Using WD Backup? Did the backup finish? On the Backup screen it would say Last Backup with date and time.
To see the actual backup: Open the drive in Windows, then open WD Backup.swstor folder. Follow the paths including any “Volume(???)”. You should now have the backed up folders and files within should open normally.
WD Smartware results are similar.

I followed the same path but clicked on History rather than Volume. It just
seemed like the logical place.
I struggled with the setup since there weren’t any instructions included in
the box. I eventually went to
the website and located a manual. Some useful information there but I
couldn’t find any information on
locating the saved files and how to retrieve them, etc. I’ll keep working
with it but am so glad you told
me how to find the backed up folders and files.
