I have the same problem…when WD external hard disk is connected to my Alienware laptop it ejects and connects automatically…and this recycling continous…

Here is the simple solution, there is no need to try any more stunts…

SOLUTION:

Just connect your 500GB/1TB/2TB WD external hard disk to your Alienware laptop through a USB3.0 HUB…that’s it, problem solved.

It seems like a power issue. It is possible your laptop is not providing enough power and that is why the drive keeps ejecting itself.
