After Windows update to 25H2 I can’t see my mapped folders

This my first post and I hope it is in the right forum. I have a 3TB MyCloud that I purchased about 6 years ago. I created folders in the root (?) and mapped those. I was able to read and write to those and used some for backup. I had been having issues with Windows updates and finally two days ago got updated to 25H2. After that I cannot see those folders and can’t map anything on the NAS.

I can see MyCloud in ThisPC, but when I click on it the folders that I had created don’t show. I know I didn’t delete them. I can also see MyCloud through my browser (FireFox), but those folders do not show. I have turned on SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support; didn’t help.

I have a NetGear Orbi router that both my computer and the MyCloud are wired (Ethernet) to. I am so ignorant in this that I don’t know where to turn.

If possible can you post a screen shot of what you see with Windows File Explorer when attempting to access the My Cloud? Its not quite clear what exactly you are seeing.

Can you access the My Cloud Dashboard? If so what firmware version is your My Cloud running?

When mapping a My Cloud Share, have you tried using the IP address for the My Cloud rather than it’s name?

Some general suggestions on things to check:

I have Windows 11 Pro 25H2 with all updates. I have had some problems with my computers showing what is on my Home Network. My WDMYCLOUD 3TB with OS5 was not showing for a while and now it’s showing again.

If you know the name of your shares, try this in File Explorer. \\wdmycloud\share name. See if that will work for you.

My MyCloud drive is where I can’t see it unless I get up and walk so I can see it; therefore, I haven’t noticed the light until now. There is no light on the front of the device, but when I look at the NetGear Orbi app, the wdmycloud is online with an IP address. I can go to that in my browser, but can’t see any files.

I see there is a female USB port in the MyCloud. Do you know if that would allow this to be used as an external HD?

What Cat0w and Bennor said.

I also have 11 Pro 25H2 and performed the changes in Bennor’s link to be able to connect to the SMB shares on my EX4.

Sadly, it no longer appears when I browse the network but I have no issue mapping drives to any of the shares. I simply check the box to “reconnect at sign-in” to keep them showing.

You can open a Command Prompt and type “net view \\” (without the quotes, put your mycloud’s name or IP address without the <>). It should list all of the shares and mapped drive letters if you have them mapped.

My EX4 is named WDNAS. Here’s my output. Not all

C:\Windows\System32>net view \\wdnas
Shared resources at \\wdnas

Yes, the USB port allows you to connect a USB drive and expose it like any other share. It is not part of your array. I have a 1TB USB drive on mine for backup purposes.
