After FW upgrade it needs to be power-cycled after standby to view any picture

Hello Everybody.

Please forgive me for my bad English.

I’m a proud owner of a WDTV Live.

Since I upgraded the firmware to the latest 1.05.x I’m having this strange issue.

My TV set is an Hitachi L37V01U 1080p.

To switch on my TV/SAT/WDTV devices I have a radio controlled power strip.

When I switch on the whole set and switch to the HDMI where the WDTV is connected, I can see it boots and I have the menu from where I can start watching any video.

If I change TV input to satellite or the integrated DVT decoder and later go back to the HDMI impute I get a black screen where usually with the previous Firmware I had the WDTV’s screensaver active.

No matter what I do with the remote control and unplugging/plugging the HDMI cable, the screen stays black.

If I switch the WDTV off using its remote control I can see its front light off and the external USB drive being turned off, but when I switch it on again still a black screen on the TV.

My only option is to power-cycle the WDTV unplugging the power cord.

To me it seems the WDTV do not sends anymore the “wake up” signal over the HDMI cable to the TV.

I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing my same problem and how he did solve it.

Thank you for reading my complain so far.

Regards,

Roberto
