Advice Needed

Hi there!

I am in the process of upgrading my home backup system, and am looking for a setup that does the following:

  1. has a dual disk (mirror backups)
  2. large capacity (4TB each or more)
  3. allow me to partition the drive in the following way:
    a) one partition to backup an iMac using time machine
    b) one partition to backup a MacBook Pro using time machine
    c) one partition to backup a Windows PC using whatever it uses to backup
    d) one partition to use as NAS for storage of pictures and videos that can be shared with all users

What can you recommend?

I am looking at the:

  • My Cloud Home Duo
  • My Cloud Mirror
  • My Cloud EX2 Ultra

which is the easiest to use, and can do everything I said above with the least amount of hassle

Don’t go for a WD NAS.
I would advice for Synology. I regret I did not when I chose my MCH, which has been disappointing since the first day.
