when wd shippedthe drives with advanced format they’ve promised 7%-11% more free space on the same hd size without the advanced format.
i’ve bought the “wd15ears” and the drive’s size is detected as 1430797kb = 1394mb which is exactly the size of a regular
(“non advnced format”) drive. where is the extra free space promised?

I think what they meant was that they’d be able to get more space out of the drive platter. However, once they create the size boundaries on a disk platter, that’s what you get.

so there is a free space on this platter, but wd keep it to itself? :mansurprised: if this platter has more space on it why
won’t they enable it?
