Just got one of these advanced format 1TB drives. It says to use a jumper on pins 7 & 8, but WD decided not to include one. No problem, I figured, just call support. Nope - support was useless. They don’t give you a jumper. Do they just assume we have them laying around?
I’m sending this back to Amazon, and since it cost me money and time, it’ll be the LAST Western Digital drive I buy for a LONG time. I’d recommend everyone avoid this “Advanced Format Drives” until WD learns to include everything you need.
I’m off to Amazon to leave yet another 1-star review on this product. I guess I should have read them, but maybe someone else will. Cheap idiots…
