Administrator log on

This may have been asked before but I am unable to do anything with my data or add data to my hard drive due to Administrator rights. My WD Smartware won’t even open to unlock it bc it says I don’t have access. I am frustrated and just want to be able to manage my data. Thanks for any help. I have a portable WD My Passport.
