I have the My Passport external drive device…thing (not very tech savvy lol). The only problem I am having is that it will not give me access to add files to the device. I am working at my college, and my college’s computers are Mac’s. I try to add in my work files to the drive, and it denies it, saying that “You do not have permission to do this” or something along those lines. I don’t know why, l mean, I do own the thing right?
But the thing is I found a way to give myself access to adding/modifying files, however, I need the Admin username and password. It has never asked me to set one up, so I have no idea what it wants. Yes. I know “It doesn’t come with a password”, people on here have said in other posts. Well…clearly it does, because it is asking me for it.
Does anyone know what the credentials could be? I’ve tried writing nothing in both fields, I’ve tried just putting “Admin” as the username with nothing as the password, I’ve even tried “1,2,3,4,5 etc”. Nothing is working.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
