struggling here and a bit noob! Got a 2tb Sharespace that I have nearly filled. I’ve bought a 2tb green drive and stuck it in the sharespace ok, but not a lot seems to have happened. In the sharespace webpage it appears in the disk manager as installed and good but it appears to have made no difference to the size…
I am looking at using it as span with no raid so would like to see either 4tb on the single networked drive or 2 * 2tb drives…what do I need to do to set that up?
Whilst I have backed up most of whats on the 2tb thats there at the moment, would obviously like to keep it so i dont have to go through the restore!
Well if you have a 2tb Sharespace then it does not come with 2tb drives. It might have 2 1tb with the SPAN configuration you had. The RAID will not work with one 2tb and 1tb unit. However if you have a 4tb SS instead then it should work. As long as you have a similar drive to the one that you had before, just change the RAID configuration to the one you desire.

yes I have 2 1tb drives and have added a single 2tb into slot 3. What I want is to either see 4tb as 1 volume or see 2*2tb volumes. I dont actually want any redundnacy at all
is there any way that I can do that without wiping the existing contents of the 2*1tb drives?
