Acronis WD version will not install

I have a WD MBLD connected on my network. I can see the shares from my Windows 8 machine. I downloaded the WD version of Acronis and tried to install it. The installation fails complaining it cannot find any WD product. I was able to install on my XP machine which also uses the MBLD and did not encounter this issue.

Anyone have any ideas? Found very old posts about this, but only solution offered was report it to WD support. I hate to open up a support case for this if there is an easy solution.

This is an old version of Acronis and not recently updated. It may be a problem with Windows 8. The main purpose of this was to clone or image a drive not routine backups. EaseUS, Paragon and Macrium all have free versions of backup software.
