Accidentally deleted the default files within My Book Live harddisk

As above… does it matter?.. how can i retrieve back those files?..

I cannot seem to access the dashboard… is it becos I had removed the original files from the HD?..

BTW are there ways I could check how much space I have used up and how much I have left?..

What do you mean with the original files? You mean everything inside the public folder? All of that is safe to take a never-ending trip to the recycle bin. If you can’t access the dashboard then something else is going on.
