AC adapter "sweats" - it's the 2nd one the goes off!

I have a wd7500h1u and I am using it for back up I perform once every several months. About 6 months ago I noticed the AC adapter was “sweating”. I was warned not to use it and was given another adapter, an original one, by the store where I bought it. When I wanted to use the drive today I wanted to connect it to the mains and noticed - again - the adapter was “sweaty” and sticky - so again I did not use it.

I was wondering if there’s a serial defect in those adapter and could I replace it please.
