About toggle button type security copy

Hi, I am new in thsi community and new user of this great hardware…now a have a doubt with toggle funcionaliy between types of security copy …I have some copy in category mode, what happen if I change to folder mode? …the files is lost, or is the same phisicaly .

In addition, the amount of space of files in MBL changed when I change the type of copy, it is not the same that source disk.

No data is erased when you change the backup type.  The difference is that when you do it by category SmartWare scan all the computer based on file types, when you do it by files and folders only those that you select will continue to update.
