About to purchase a new HD need some help regarding copying raid

So I have 2 400gb deathstars in raid on a older pc of mine. One of them is dying and they have some very critical software on them. I need to know can the western digital software copy a raid array onto a single disk and still be readable by windows?

Maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email.

The Deathstar hard drive appear to not be a WD product.  The WD software may not be working to copy off the older drive.  You should consider getting the complete version of the Acronis software.

What is your RAID configuration? I mean RAID 0, 1, 5 or 10? In other words, Strip, mirror or Strip + Mirror set?

If it is a mirror set by any chance, you can pull out the faulty one and inset a compatible (same size or larger) drive in place. RAID set should restore the new drive with mirrored data when you boot your PC. I have seen some hot swappable arrays in servers.
