I bought a new purple 1TB HDD with new Hikvision DVR and attached it and plugged in the power plug and SATA connector to the drive. When I go to format the drive, it initially says “initializing 20%.” After about seven minutes, the DVR software says “Abnormal.” I have checked all the connections, etc. Does this sound like a defective drive?
