Got a new receiver, Onkyo TX-NR646 which lists AAC support as a feature. The WDTV, latest model, does not detect it during the audio HDMI auto config process, and forcing AAC support using the manual option results in no sound.
Have others been successful in having the WDTV detect AAC support in a receiver?

In looking through the full manual, the 646 does not support AAC over HDMI, only for file playback.

It probably means it decodes AAC via DLNA – not AAC passed over HDMI…
