this 750gb Passport got a knock and now cannot be seen in Windows Explorer, seen in Computer Management as a 2TB drive, not initialized, and if you try to, says it is “write protected”.
Checked all physical aspects, can’t find a problem. Light comes on, spins a bit, heads seek, does that 3-4 times and goes to sleep.
There are years of photos, including recent 4 month trip… Any help?
First, you should use WD Drive Utility to diagnose the health of My Passport external drive. If not work, you can use Data Recovery Services to recover the important data from the drive.
