503 Server temporarily overloaded

Hi all,

has anyone been receiving this error msg when trying to access wd discovery, this is not good. been unable to access for a few days…

Have you gotten any replies to this?  I just started having this problem yesterday.  I am new to this.

restart of the NAS device should help in this matter.

Thanks Jazzymood,

and your correct, I did restart my NAS some time ago, and it worked…I did post the solution. I thank you very much for your tech experience.

High having the same issue, it seems to be CTorrent for me causing high CPU usage but only when it’s downloading from torrent, if no torrents are running CPU usage is normal.

Can one of you guys confirm by SSHing into MBWE when you have this problem and type: top

This will give you a list of the processes that are using CPU resources.  I’ve emailed WDC Support, lets see what they come back with.

Here is the result of “top”; I don’t know what it means

sorry don’t know how to SSH into the device, all i know is that it is a pain in the butt to manually reset the device everytime - this process takes time, not handy in an home office environment.

The Bittorrent and HTTP download client services ALWAYS clogs up the device making it practically impossible to access MWB via the browser access.

WDC need to investigate this, and resolve the issue - I have the latest update (just patched it 2 days ago to latest release, and still having the same problem).  It takes forever to get back in to the device to delete the file and then disable the download.

This is a shame, as the BT and HTTP client service is the reason why I forked out the extra dosh on this device.  Not really impressed.

Attn WDC: Hardware does the job, but you need to fix the software!

To SSH download Putty and put in the IP of the MyBook and under port make sure it’s 22. As a username put root, as a password put welc0me.

SSH into the device and type

/etc/init.d/S55mini_httpd restart

and it should run again. Unfortunately that is the quickest solution.

In what area that I make these changes in? I’ve look all over. I have the Worldbook white light edition  NAS, 1TB…thanks
