46gb to take 11 hours

Normal wired connection thru router to computer. Should it take that long? If thats normal then thats that just seems slow. If I need to provide more info let me know.

Router

Motorola SBG6580 - Four 10/100/1000Base-T Gigabit Port

2TB MBL

I assume you mean 46 gigaBYTES and not gigabits.  46 gigabytes in 11 hours is 1.2 megabytes per sectond average.  That is really slow.  I just set mine up and transferred 400 giabytes in probably a total of 4-5 hours (~27 megabytes per second).  Even that is slower than I had hoped it would be as the drives should be capable of more than that and the gigabit ethernet is not the bottleneck.

Are you going wireless from computer to router?

What is the network card on computer if hardwired?

Suggest upgrading latest drivers for NIC

Correct, 46 gigabytes.

Alienware M17X R2

I am unsure of the NIC on laptop. it is a Alienware M17X R2. Everything is current as far as I can tell for drivers. Nothing showing on updates from dell/alienware.

Intel ® 82577LC Gigabit Network connection. Current driver version 11.5.10.0.
