403 error android app 4.4.3

Android app, try as I might I cannot get the app to work over anything other than when attached to the same network as the my cloud.

I’ve tried signing in, using the code, neither works.

?

Hi, while on the same network as the My Cloud with a computer check if ports 80 and 443 are closed or open, if they are closed you will need to contact your ISP or your router manufacturer to help you open them. If they are open you might need to create a port forwarding rule to allow the connection to the My Cloud from outside of the network.

Have you given your Android device Cloud Access. Is it showing in the Dashboard and shown as connected? See example image below.

Click on, tap or activate image to enlarge it.

I used mine the last few days while visiting my daughter and I did not have any problems.

Thanks for the reply… picking up the thread after a break…

So sick of this hardware / software… cloud access is set up - Port forwarding connection established, I have never been able to access mycloud on anything other than my home network.
As soon as I add the device using the app I get the 403 error.

I wish I’d just sent it back straight away!

Bump

Might be throwing out the unit soon, simply doesn’t work.
