I tried a 3tb Toshiba internal drive a few days ago, and it vibrated so bad I returned it. I then installed a 3tb WD drive, and it initialized and installed as the 3tb Toshiba drive. I am using windows 10. Does anyone have a solution to fix this?
If you had said that the drive installed as a Hitachi drive, that would have made sense, because WD owns Hitachi and they make many WD drives today. But, Toshiba? All that makes sense is the PC is remembering the previous drive. Dig deeper into the drive properties to see if the details of the info still says Toshiba. Maybe uninstall drive, reboot PC and try installing again and hope for the best.
