3tb my book nas - windows can see but cannot access

Hi

Ive had the 3 tb drive on a network for some time, and every few windows updates, it gets lost. I re install all the wd software and I can get to see it in the list, but only mount via right click mount. This appears to work, but five minutes later the computer says the network drive is gone, and refuses to re mount/connect. I have to re start the machine to repeat.

Waht can I do about it?
Or is it a hardware problem between the older hd and windows ten ?

If it is a NAS device, try to update the firmware if there is a newer firmware. If it is an external device that connect to a computer or a router. Then check the router or the computer that share the device.
