3tb my book causes computer crash

the 3tb mybook essentials  HD causes  sony vegas movie maker to crash as this does not seem like something a consumer could fix how do I get WD to fix it?  For a more complete description with some .non complementary words about WD go to the sony basics forum which is managed  by COW.
