33000 errors reported on Webmin

Hi,

I have a couple of WD WD30EFRX 3TB Red HDDs on a Linux server used in RAID 1. Foolishly, the power to one of the drives was loose so I received a lot of read errors. The RAID repaired itself and the diagnostics didn’t find a problem with the drive.

I was wondering if a low level reformat would remove the errors, providing there is nothing wrong with the drive. Is there any other way to remove these errors as it is quite alarming to view them in Webmin. I would like to reuse the drive on a different server.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Luke

Hi LLWKL,

You should test the drive using Windows Data Lifeguard diagnostic and check if it reports the error. If it reports the error then you should replace the drive if it is under warranty period. Please refer to the link given below for more information.
