please can somebody help this old silver surfer

i was given this external portable drive for christmas but i cannot get it to work

under disk management it appears as volume  ‘m’ the letter i gave it

under layout  - simple

under type - basic

under file system - RAW

under status-  healthy

how can i change the file system to NTFS like the rest of my computer?

i have a quad core desktop pc using windows 7 

help would really be appreciated

If you don’t have data on it that you need simply reformat it NTFS.
