Hi all,

I have purhcased a new 2TB My passport Ultra for storing music, movies and photos

I want to connect this to the WD TV Live / Raspberry Pi always.

Is this a good idea to keep the HDD connected and always ON?

Hello,

By default the Passport drive will go into sleep mode when not in use. This means that it can be connected all the time and it will not spin until you try to access it.

Thank you. I was worried as I just lost the NAS which was always On for little more than 2 years. It had Segate hard disk BTW
