Need help regarding SSD

Hello,
I need some help and information. I currently have asus motherboard z170k. And i just purchase WD BLACK PCIE SSD 512gb. When I boot my PC the SSD didn’t appear in my BIOS. I’m using the latest BIOS, which is version 3301. My question is does my motherboard support the ssd mentioned? Do I need to tweak my BIOS setting in order for the SSD to show?

That is a question that is better addressed by the manufacturer of your Motherboard with regards to a general compatibility criteria.

Here is a link to the WD Black SSD compatiblity sheet. The Z170K-K is not listed as a compatible device.

That being said the specs of your board show
1 x M.2 Socket 3, , with M key, type 2242/2260/2280 storage devices support (both SATA & PCIE mode)

So it should work. You mentioned that it does not show in the BIOS. IIRC NVMe SSDs only work in UEFI. Can you see if you can boot with UEFi instead of BIOS and see if it shows up there?
