I’ve just installed a new PC after a hard drive crash. I retrieved the file from my WD My Book Essentials drive, and it appears that I have everything there from 2010. However, nothing I have created in 2011 - documents, photos etc. - have come across from 2011. What have I done wrong? Can anyone help please? My new PC is running Windows 7 where before the crash I had Windows XP.
What backup program did you use? Try and manually look for the files inside the hard drive to check if they are indeed inside. If they are, then try and manually retrieve the files to your new os installation.
