Hello at all.
Yesterday i have purchase a new wd essential, for my wd tv. now i have two of the same hd´s on wd tv and…
the wd tv can now only work in foldermode, so i must use usb1 or usb2 to search all of the hd´s.
before that, i have a buffallo hd an wd essential on my wd tv and all works fine.
the wd tv see only one of the essential hd´s not both. i think its the problem… 2 hd´s and same size and manufakturer.
Have anyone a solution for my problem ?

I have a Gen1 and 2 1TB MyBook Essentials. I’ve never had a problem using both drives at the same time with the Gen1… they just both show up, so it is possible, as long as the drives have different IDs.
If your both your Essentials have the same number, that might be confusing the WDTV… you would have to move all the data off of one of them to a safe place, and re-format it (whereby it will get a new ID), and then put all the data back on it.
Then the WDTV will clearly be able to tell that they’re 2 separate devices.
