1TB Mybook essential failing self-drive test

I have scanned my hard drive with smartware, and it keeps failing the self drive test as well as the complete drive test. I have no idea where to find the results as to WHY it is failing the test. It wont allow me to update firmware either.

please help with any suggestions. it would be greatly appreciated.
