Hi i recently bought a 1TB Elements usb powered. i first tried connecting it on my front usb hubs but it ddnnt work, so i tried the back usb hubs then it got recognized. I ttransfered about 15GB of data unto it but after that it suddenly stops. i tried just transfering 2gb of data and it can’t transfer anymore. It either starts copying then stops at a certain point or it gives an error “can’t read source file or disk”. Iv read in some posts it could be a power supply problem. is it? what can i do to fix this? thank you.
Run a disk error check like chkdsk or Data Lifeguard Diagnostics
i did. it gave me this error
“06-Quick Test on drive 2 did not complete! Status code = 07 (Failed read test element), Failure Checkpoint = 02 (Unknown Test) SMART self-test did not complete on drive 2!”
any tips?
then the drive needs to be replaced
